Unter der Ägide des Künstlers selbst entstand eine Mischung aus neuem Material, Songs der legendären Pop Group ("We Are All Prostitutes", "We Are Time", "She Is Beyond Good And Evil") wie auch Stewarts Soloarbeiten mit der Rhythmussektion von Sugarhill Records/Tommy Boy und dem Produzenten Adrian Sherwood. Und natürlich enthält "Kiss The Future" auch rares und unveröffentlichtes Material. 1978, mit 17 Jahren, wurde Mark Stewart Sänger und Propagandist von The Pop Group, einer der einflussreichsten Post-Punk-Bands. Danach spielte er bei Rip, Rig & Panic und schuf als Mark Stewart And The Maffia eine Mischung aus Elektro, Dub, Disco und Industrial-HipHop. In England gilt Stewart als einer der meist respektierten Musiker, jemand, auf den sich heutzutage Bands wie Radio 4, LCD Soundsystem, The Liars und !!! beziehen, und von dem sogar Leute wie David Bowie und DJ Hell sagen, er hätte sie beeinflusst. Der ersten Auflage von "Kiss The Future" liegt ein Set mit postkartengroßen Drucken ausgewählter Graphiken Mark Stewarts bei.
