Analysis of Analog Despreading CDMA Receiver Based on 5-Port Device. High data rates, low power consumption and lowcomplexity are the most important parameters in thedesign of the next generation mobile terminals. Inthis thesis we are introducing a new paradigmin the design of a direct sequence (DS) spreadspectrum (SS) receiver by combining analog anddigital signal processing. The main difference withrespect to the conventional all-digital SS receiverdesign approach is that the proposed mixedanalog/digital processing results in a symbol ratesampling rather than the high rate sub-chip sampling.The analog signal despreading is a key part of theproposed receiver solution. The potential advantagesof analog despreading are reduced power consumptionand low receiver complexity. Also, the proposedreceiver solution allows very high chip rates (veryhigh signal bandwidth).
