In the year which has just closed fewer Friends in the front ranks of the Quaker Church have been called to a higher service, but there are some whose places it will be difficult to fill, and from whose life history many valuable lessons may be learnt. With the memoirs of Friends who have died during the past year, I have in cluded accounts of five whose names appeared in last year's list, but of whom no memoirs were then given.
