In dieser Dissertation wird eine Lattice-Boltzmann Methode verwendet um die Strömung in drei unterschiedlichen menschlichen Nasenhöhlen zu simulieren und eine neue Methode zur strömungsmechanischen Kategorisierung von Nasen zur Unterstützung medizinischer Operationsplanungen entwickelt. Die hohe verwendete Auflösung wird durch einen parallelen hochskalierbaren Gittergenerator ermöglicht, welcher in nur wenigen Sekunden O(1011) Gitterzellen auf hunderttausenden von Prozessoren erzeugen kann.
