It is one of the most mature energy sources in terms of years of use and can be used for production of heat, electricity and mechanical energy. The present work has been undertaken to study importance of Bioenergy, Biomass, and Biofuels mainly Biogas. The emphasis is given on process of biogas production, microorganisms involved, design of biogas plant, operational problems, benefits and drawbacks of biogas technology.
