As a teacher in the Warren Consolidated Schools, Willi taught secondary English literature and choral music She implemented creative writing workshops for students which resulted in a tri-county publication featuring gift ed writers of all ages. She also served on the Michigan Board of Education steering committ ee for secondary course and textbook selecti on. A well known and gift ed area poet, she had a craft shop, the Sign of the Golden Quill, in Birmingham, where she wrote personal verse for all occasions from her "poet's corner". Willi was featured on local T.V. and radio shows and in the Detroit Free Press and News. This led to requests from well known national celebrities to write personal poems for special occasions. Mrs. Jed has three children: a daughter, Laurie two sons, Robert and Timothy and two grandsons, Nick and Zack. Her late husband, Bob Jed, was a renowned jazz artist who taught gift ed in the Birmingham Public Schools.
