Text includes critical and biographical essays on each of the artists, and the importance of their works in Brazilian art. Artists featured include, Emiliano Di Cavalcanti, Lasar Segall, Tarsila do Amaral, Candido Portinari, Alberto da Veiga Guignard, José Pancetti, Milton Dacosta, Maria Leontina, and Antonio Bandeira. There are twenty artists in total. Really interesting works of art, stunningly reproduced in this beautiful, and rare book. Near Fine/Near Fine. This book is in excellent condition. As you will see in the photos the covers look fantastic. Beautiful red cloth with white lettering on the front and spine. No wear at the corners or spine ends. Beautiful yellow endpapers. And very clean page edges and interior pages that appear flawless. No markings or writing anywhere. No ageing, no tears or creases. And throughout you have beautiful and provocative illustrative works (in color) from twenty artists. I need to call out two imperfections. When you stand the book up the back cover opens up an inch. But know that the binding of the book looks perfect. The other imperfection is a bookseller sticker(Leonardo da Vinci)on the first front endpaper. I'll provide a photo. The DJ also looks very good. A few surface scratches visible under direct light. Some whitening(see photos) of the glossy blue rear cover. There's No soiling and No tears. There's a speck of peel at the top and bottom of the rear DJ's middle corners. The DJ will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. Please note that due to the size of the book exceeding that of the scanner surface I've taken 2 photos each of the DJ front and back and 2 each of the book's front and back cover. Also, although it seems a little crazy to tell you that something you see in the photos I've provided isn't really there, I'll do it anyway. In the pictures of the red cloth front and back cover you can see a thin light, white horizontal line going all the way across. I've shifted this book in hands round and round and stared at it from various angles in light and in shade and I can Not see even a hint of such a line. Maybe it has to with a tight thread that the scanning light is picking up and distorting. I'm at a loss. But with the naked eye I feel comfortable saying there simply is No such line to see. The scanned photos also don't do justice to the really rich red color of the covers. They suggest a pinkish faded hue that simply isn't there.
