The book appears slightly age, but has no damage as such to report. Illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs, 5 full-page plates, and 3 other pages of colour reproductions. Chronology, list of works referred to in abbreviated form, and the catalogue itself. Fortunately the key to an understanding of these processes is to be found on the subject of the 1977 exhibition, Rubens drawings and oil sketches. These works of his, because of the spontaneity of their execution, are much more appealing to us finished paintings.
