[EAN: 9781514310267], New book, [PU: Createspace Independent Publishing Platform, United States], Language: English. Brand new Book. MISSION STATEMENT To advance and promote a supportive system of information sharing grounded in Native Indigenous values and traditions while developing pioneering efforts to build bridges with emerging grassroots coalitions of labor and community groups in order to create a sustainable economic environment. FOREWORD The language and culture of our indigenous heritage is under siege from technological encroachment. Oral tradition which has been the traditional conveyance of our ancestral wisdom is unsustainable in the high tech age of contemporary communication. In order to preserve and protect the historical legacy of a people Indian Voices has developed a journalistic strategy to catalog, document and chronicle our human experience to reveal the inner truth of a heritage that would otherwise be hidden and forbidden. Through articles, anecdotes, traditional tales these Urban Legends contribute to the ancient and modern body of knowledge fostering independent journalism and cultural transparency while securing our heritage for the next seven generations. -Rose Davis Publisher & Editor/Indian Voices. ABOUT Indian Voices Media project is the culmination of efforts on the part community members intent on assisting with the development of an entrepreneurial journalistic endeavor dedicated to bringing the voices of the marginalized and e indigenous members of our society into the national discourse, to not only influence policy makers but to enhance the pool of educational material to inform the mainstream about the important role of indigenous people whose enduring presence in the development of our history and society assures its future. Particular emphasis is given to exploring and revealing the historically strong connection that exists between the Black/Indian cultures. This loose affiliation of volunteers and change agents contribute to the production of a hard copy newspaper and a developing cutting edge website offering academicians and social critics a platform for expression This ongoing project has been under guidance and supervision of Rose Davis a long time advocate of a sustainable and healthy, balanced living environment and whose work toward this end is her raison d'etre., Books<
