Er ist Dipl.-Betriebswirt, hat zusätzlich Pädagogik und Psychologie studiert und ist in der Erwachsenenbildung tätig. Das erste Drittel seines Lebens hat er in Berlin verbracht, das zweite Drittel im Ruhrgebiet und lebt nun seit vielen Jahren in Süd-Baden.
