English summary: This book, for the first time, investigates and describes the phonetic changes in the Alemmanic dialect of Baden-Wuerttemberg over the course of a hundred years in a geographic space. On the basis of a comparison of selected material from the Wenker-Atlas and the Southwestern German Language Atlas as well as a large quantity of sound recordings of unrehearsed speech with older, fixed dialect speakers, Tobias Streck analyzes the change in dialect with the help of innovative methods both quantitative and qualitative. Using seven consonant and four lexical variables, he works out the process of dialect change along a spectrum of influences from neighboring dialects, standard language or other widely dispersed forms of speaking within the region. The compilation of over 82, 000 pieces of evidence from the recordings makes possible a wholly new view of the data. Streck shows that with cluster analysis and multi-dimensional scaling, the spontaneously spoken data helps to define the geographic spaces and that those spaces reciprocally also speak for a fundamental validity of the current categorization of dialects.
