Initially qualified as an infant school teacher in 1983, Clare also has a Masters Degree in Education and a RGN certificate. She has numerous other qualifications in complimentary health, including hypnotherapy, reflexology, reiki and massage. On 1st of December 1998, Clare discovered a lump in her right breast which turned out to be a cancerous tumour. Within two weeks Clare had had a lumpectomy and early in 1999 began a six month course of chemotherapy treatment, followed by five weeks and three days of radiotherapy. During this time Clare turned to her friends for advice and support and relied more and more on her knowledge of complementary therapies to enhance conventional treatments. Clare used what she knew and all that she could find out to help the chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments go more smoothly and to decrease side effects. Description Clare wrote this book at the time but was unable to get it published or professionally circulated to those who would benefit. Recently, Clare's husband John published his diaries that he kept during Clare's treatment ('Clare our Story' published by Chipmunka Publishing) and this has inspired Clare to try to get her book distributed to cancer sufferers in the hope that it may help those undergoing treatment for cancer. Almost ten years on, Clare is happy and well and is still using the tips in this booklet. Clare also acts as a spokesperson for the Breast Cancer Campaign charity.
